Commemorating the enduring symbol of innovation, engineering excellence, hope and courage that is the Spitfire. We’ve teamed up with the National Spitfire Project as Corporate Ace, supporting this incredible project.
Situated on the Southampton waterfront, near the location of the original Supermarine factory, the National Spitfire Monument, four-fifths the height of Nelson’s column, will pay tribute to a proud chapter in national and local history.
Celebrate
Spitfire pilots are rightly remembered for their pivotal role in the Battle of Britain, but until now there has been no specific, national commemoration of the aircraft in which they flew. However, just as the stories of ‘the few’ have inspired many men and women for many years, the National Spitfire Monument will embody the courage of all those who built, trained on, flew, and maintained this enduring British icon.
We remember courageous pilots and we commemorate their bravery, but we must not forget the ground crews, maintenance teams, and women pilots too.
