AV0101 Chipping and Scratching Agent - 20ml

A 20ml bottle of chipping and scratching agent for creating realistic paint chipping and worn edges on plastic and resin model kits. Brushed between two Acrylic paint layers, it lets you lift the top coat with water to reveal the colour beneath. The thicker consistency makes brush control easier on a wide range of pre-painted surfaces. Humbrol has been the modeller's standard for decades.

• Supplied in a 20ml dropper bottle for precise, controlled application
• Thicker than most chipping fluids, so it brushes on without flooding the surface
• For use with water-based Acrylic paints only, not solvent-based paints or spray paints
• Touch dry in 20 - 40 mins; hard dry in 1 - 2 hours, and force drying is possible on a low setting
• Brushes clean with water or Acrylic Thinners (AC7433) when wet, cellulose when dry

Ideal For

• Armour and AFV builds at 1/48 scale and larger, where visible paint wear looks convincing
• Dioramas and vignettes with aged, battle-worn vehicles
• Modellers trying weathering and chipping for the first time

How to Use

Prime and paint your base colour, then brush one thin coat of the agent over the dry Acrylic surface. Apply the top colour next, thinned about 70 parts paint to 30 parts water if airbrushing; two thin coats are preferable to one thick coat. Once dry, chip back with a water-soaked brush, using water sparingly and working in small sections.
