How do you weather models?
There are lots of ways to add a more worn look to your Airfix models and the method you choose is up to you.
Enamel washes
These are very thin paints that you apply over your base coat. You can pinpoint sections you want to weather with a very fine brush and use cotton swabs to pick up any excess paint.
Dry brushing
You can use paint you already have for this technique, using only a very small amount of product and wiping off the excess before applying it to the model in a light back-and-forth movement. This takes a bit of practice to get right.
Weathering powders
You need to use a soft brush to apply these powders. They give the look of dirt and mud splatters – ideal for war-worn plane kits.
