History
Born from a 1960s Anglo-French partnership, the SEPECAT Jaguar was a highly capable tactical strike/attack, close air support, and reconnaissance aircraft, serving the Royal Air Force for an impressive span of 33 years.
With its high-mounted wing and extended undercarriage, the Jaguar was adept at operating from grassy fields and makeshift landing strips. This capability was notably demonstrated to the media on 26th April 1975, when the second production Jaguar GR.1 XX109 executed a parachute-assisted landing on the soon-to-be-opened M55 motorway near Blackpool.
