History
In 1625, as Sweden expanded its influence around the Baltic Sea, King Gustavus Adolphus commissioned new warships, including the Wasa. During its inaugural journey in 1628, the Wasa embarked and fired a salute.
However, within minutes of setting sail, the ship began to tilt. It briefly corrected itself before tilting again, and to the shock and disbelief of onlookers, the grand warship unexpectedly sank.
