History

Undoubtedly, one of the most effective jet aircraft of the post-war period, the remarkable American-made McDonnell Douglas F-4 Phantom served in various international air forces, with Britain being a major user. Initially acquired to provide the Royal Navy with a contemporary replacement for their outdated De Havilland Sea Vixens, Fleet Air Arm Phantoms primarily defended the fleet from aerial threats in all weather conditions, while also delivering powerful strike support.
