History

Renowned as one of the most iconic aircraft to ever soar through the skies, the Supermarine Spitfire is as recognisable today as it was during the intense aerial battles of the Battle of Britain. Conceived as a short-range, high-speed interceptor, it drew inspiration from inter-war seaplanes that vied for the Schneider Trophy. Marking a significant leap in aviation technology over the biplane fighters prevalent in the mid-1930s, the Spitfire served throughout World War II, continually evolving to remain at the cutting edge of fighter design. Initially introduced as a temporary model, the Mk.V became the most produced variant, equipped with the more powerful Merlin 45 engine and an advanced universal wing, allowing for easy adaptation of different armaments.

The A4 Cutting Mat is a double-sided self-sealing cutting mat with scale markings for 1:72, 1:76, 1:32, 1:48 and 1:24. Also features 1cm square grid pattern as well as 30, 45, 72, 90 and 120 degree angle markings (markings on one side only). Suitable for use with Humbrol Workstation: AG9156

Work Station

The Humbrol Workstation is manufactured from a tough and durable material that can't be melted by Humbrol Poly Cement.
