We’re thrilled to announce the return of our Aviation Photo Awards for the fourth year running — and this time, we’re mixing things up!
In addition to our popular Over 18 and Under 18 categories, we’re excited to introduce two brand-new additions, the Airfix Category, where our team will hand-pick, their favourite aviation shot from this year’s entries, and the Darren Harbar Category, judged exclusively by our special guest judge, Darren Harbar.

GUEST JUDGE
Darren Harbar is an internationally published photographer based in Bedfordshire, best known for his stunning imagery of vintage aviation. With over 20 years of experience behind the lens, Darren’s journey began selling camera’s, leading to his role as editor of Which Digital Camera? magazine.
His work has graced the covers of national magazines and calendars, including FlyPast, Light Aviation, and Pilot, earning him a dedicated following among aviation enthusiasts around the world.
Passionate about sharing his expertise, Darren also runs popular photography workshops, helping others get the most out of their cameras. As he puts it, “A good photographer knows how to handle a camera without having to think about it.”
This year, Darren will cast his expert eye over every submission to the Airfix Aviation Photo Awards — but which standout shot will earn the Darran Harbar choice award?
