History
Since the first manned, sustained powered flight occurred in Britain in October 1908, the nation has been captivated by aeroplanes and our ambition to master the skies. Once this was accomplished, aviation quickly shifted focus - to develop technology superior to adversaries and to prevent them from operating in the same airspace.
From the initial aerial battles over the Western Front trenches, the pilots who undertook these bold missions gained the admiration of onlookers, with their aircraft becoming some of the most renowned machines ever created. Whether seen as the heroes of the Battle of Britain or the latest fifth-generation stealth fighters protecting Britain's skies today, ongoing advancements in aviation technology are essential to sustain that edge and continue our aerial dominance.
Since 1955, countless individuals have been able to elevate their passion for aeroplanes through scale modelling, recreating some of Britain's most celebrated aircraft in kit form. Our newest 'Britain's dominators of the skies' bundle allows the modelling of some of the most crucial British aircraft from the past 85 years in 1:72 scale, all of which bore the British roundel and sought to dominate the skies during their operational period.

Comprising 74 pieces and rated at skill level 1, this kit is ideal for young modellers aged 8 and up, showcasing a wingspan of 174mm upon completion. By 1943, the RAF required a specialised ground attack fighter, and the Typhoon was well-suited for this mission. Its robust engine enabled it to carry a payload of up to two 1,000lb (454kg) bombs. Starting in September 1943, Typhoons were also equipped with four, eight, or occasionally 12 "60lb" RP-3 rockets. The kit offers markings for two distinct paint schemes, allowing for the creation of authentic D-Day era Typhoons.

- 74 pieces designed for skill level 1 modellers
- Suitable for ages 8 and above
- Two authentic aircraft paint schemes included
- Recreates the powerful ground attack variant capable of carrying bombs and rockets
History
The Hawker Typhoon became one of the Second World War's most potent ground attack aircraft. Initially designed as an interceptor, it excelled in low-altitude ground attack roles, where its strong engine and durable build were highly effective.
By 1943, the RAF sought a dedicated ground attack fighter, and the Typhoon was ideally suited for this purpose. Its powerful engine allowed it to carry a substantial armament load of up to two 1,000lb (454kg) bombs. From September 1943, Typhoons were also equipped with four, eight, or sometimes 12 "60lb" RP-3 rockets, turning them into formidable tank destroyers and ground attack platforms.
The Typhoon's weaponry made it a formidable force against enemy ground targets. The combination of bombs and rockets enabled Typhoon squadrons to effectively target everything from armoured vehicles to fortified positions. During the D-Day landings and subsequent operations in Northwest Europe, Typhoon squadrons provided vital close air support to Allied forces, striking enemy positions and disrupting German movements.
The aircraft's reputation grew during the campaign in France and the Low Countries, where it played a crucial role in supporting the Allied advance. Typhoon pilots conducted numerous sorties against enemy ground targets, and the aircraft became a key component of the RAF's tactical air power during the final year of the war in Europe.

Consisting of 141 components, this plastic model kit is designed for modellers aged 8 and up, offering a skill level 3 challenge. - Completed wingspan measures 186mm
- Includes decals for two genuine Gulf War paint schemes
- Skill level 3 build, suitable for ages 8 and older
- Modern-era Blackburn Buccaneer S.2B version
- Desert Camouflage pattern as used during 1991 Gulf War missions
History
In the Gulf War of 1991, RAF air operations were hindered by the effectiveness of Iraqi anti-aircraft defences, forcing Tornado and Jaguar missions to operate at higher altitudes, which diminished their impact. To effectively deploy 'smart' munitions, the RAF relied on their older Blackburn Buccaneer jets equipped with 'Pave Spike' laser designators. However, these aircraft were stationed back in Scotland. A rapid effort was undertaken to ready and dispatch twelve Buccaneers, newly painted in 'Desert Camouflage', along with their laser equipment to the Persian Gulf. Within days, the self-proclaimed 'Sky Pirates' were en route.

History
The aircraft that participated in the Battle of Britain were slated for major upgrades, but during this development phase, the Luftwaffe introduced a new Bf 109 variant that was effectively downing Spitfires in significant numbers, necessitating immediate action.
The Spitfire Mk.V was essentially an enhanced Mk.II airframe, equipped with the latest Merlin engine, which improved its high-altitude capabilities. This variant eventually served over 140 RAF Squadrons. As a pivotal advancement in the Spitfire's wartime role, the Mk.V was initially a temporary fix that proved so effective it became one of the most extensively produced versions of this iconic aircraft.
With its improved performance, the Spitfire Mk.Vc was able to effectively challenge the Luftwaffe's advanced fighters, ensuring RAF dominance in various operational theatres during the Second World War.
